The Impreza GT T(urbo) was the homologation special for the WRC (World Rally Championship) version of Subaru at the time.

Why is this Impreza 555 so iconic?
Colin McRae became WRC World Champion in 1995 after a fierce battle with fellow Subaru teammate Carlos Sainz and to celebrate this championship this limited edition was delivered in 1996. In 1997 McRae is one point short for a 2nd world title. Incidentally, Subaru also won the constructors' title in 1995, 1996 and 1997. McRae was known for his spectacular driving style and a relentless "hunger" to win, which unfortunately resulted in a crash too often. His famous words "If in doubt flat out" and "Straight roads are for fast cars, turns are for fast drivers" are widely known.
In 1998, McRae and Subaru sadly parted ways. In the following years he drove for the teams of Ford and Citroen, but he never reached the top again. In retrospect, Subaru & McRae turned out to be the perfect match! Sadly, Colin McRae died in a helicopter accident in 2007 when he was only 39 years old. All this gives an extra emotional charge to this version and makes this Sub even more iconic. One chunk of rally history, this GT T is the rally legend!

In 1996 a "bargain" for a four-wheel drive car with 200+hp. Despite its relatively low sales price, a car to dream of!
Times change a GTT is nowadays a rarity and has acquired more than a cult status,
Only 120 of these "Colin McRae" (then called Editon 555) were delivered in the Netherlands in the years 1996/1997, of which only 50 were numbered.

This unique 555 was delivered new in the Netherlands and comes...
