Nice 100% original WW2 USA Service M1937 wool shirt, quite a large size (38R) and complete. The label is still present and the shirt has a beautiful United States Pacific Army Command Patch, Tech 5th class rank chevrons, an overseas bar denoting >0,5 year overseas service and a nice ruptured duck patch indicating honorful discharge following WW2.The M-1937 wool shirt was standard issue to all US Army enlisted men during WWII. It was a woolen button down shirt that was mustard shade OD in color. It featured two front pockets and had a button closure. It was to be worn with both dress and combat uniforms. There were only two patterns; one with a gas flap and one without a gas flap. The pattern with the gas flap had a slightly improved collar and was known as the "Convertible Collar" shirt. It started to be produced and issued in 1943 with the ever growing gas protection hype. This pattern started to be seen in the Normandy Invasion. The pattern without the gas flap was the same shirt except it had a dressier collar and lacked a gas flap. It started to be produced and issued in 1938 and was used all throughout the war even with the 1943 pattern's production.
100% original shirt in nice condition.
