Verenigde Staten van Amerika - Rare US Combat Engineer portable Wire Cutters in orig pouch - fully functional - Infantry - Ranger - 1944

This is a cool standard, FULLY FUNCTIONAL engineer issue wire cutter (often called barbed wire cutters) issued to the U.S. combat engineers during WWII. It’s a “parrot-beak” (or long-nosed) version of the cutters–which is apparently a little scarcer than the version without the feature–with the “beak” being useful for pulling fencing wire staples. Marked on the top jaw: U.S. / HKP 1944 “HKP” is an abbreviation for the H.K. Porter company, who made the cutters under a contract with the U.S. military. It is complete with the original pouch, which is also dated 1944. Clearly an original set as-found (uncleained), can be cleaned by the buyer if desired, its just surface rust so it doesnt affext the functioning at all.
