Up for auction is a nice set of a rare and fully functional US WW2 USN navy whistle with lanyard (dated 1944!) and a USN rescue light (in functional condition but no battery included).The whistle functions perfectly.the rescue light is also in great condition and marked USN on the bottom. 100% WW2. These were issued to amphibious troops, for example during D-day.
Another survival tools issued to men in WWII was an emergency flash light. This version made by the Bridgeport Co. could be used in an emergency to attract ships or aircraft. The bottom is stamped USN US Navy and BMG for Bridgeport Metal Group. See attached photo of the light in use from a demonstration in 1943 when these lights were produced.
